About Structured Linguistic Literacy

The Speech-to-Print method, also known as Structured Linguistic Literacy (SLL), is a clear and organized approach to teaching reading and writing. I choose to use this approach because research shows that when we start by teaching the sounds in the words we say and then connect those sounds to their written forms, it helps build the essential skills needed for reading well and understanding what we read. The main idea behind Structured Linguistic Literacy is that acquiring strong reading and writing skills requires systematic instruction in the structural components of language.

Success Stories!

"Our daughter's tutoring sessions with Ms. Height was a great experience! I appreciate how accommodating she was with our busy schedule. Everything was organized and thoughtfully prepared and individualized, which made it easy for me as the parent and kept my daughter engaged and productive throughout each session. It's been very beneficial, and I can see how the structure of each lesson has helped her grow in reading, writing, and vocabulary. It makes a difference when you work with someone who is an expert in their field and loves what they do."
